Luz Clara Angueyra and Leopoldo Silva

Luz Clara (Tata) Angueyra was born in Tunja, Boyaca, Colombia on July 27, 1882, and was the twin sister of Graciela. She married Leopoldo Silva, a physician, in 1908, and they had four children, Hernando, Alfonso, Graciela and Leonor Silva.
Leopoldo, the son of Leopoldo Silva y Cortes and Mercedes Fajardo, was born in Chiquinquira, Colombia, on December 8, 1875.
Leopoldo died in Bogotá on September 10, 1917, and Tata worked as a seamstress to support the family. In 1928, she decided to leave Colombia for the United States. She arrived in New York with her son, Alfonso in September, 1928, leaving Graciela and Lenny with her brother, Gustavo Angueyra and his wife, Corina Salazar, in Barranquilla until she had set up home in the US.
In about 1945, after nearly 20 years in the US, Tata returned to Colombia where she lived in Bogotá until her death there on November 27, 1969.
