[her parents]
[parents not known]
Maria Esther Figueredo y Vazquez was born in 1867,1 and was also taken prisoner by the Spanish at Santa Rosa in August 1870 and subsequently deported. She sailed for New York with her mother and older sisters where they lived for a little over a year, until, on December 11, 1871, they moved to Key West, FL.
María Esther
married ??? Molina and they had four children, Horacio,
Adriana, Piedad, and María Molina y Figueredo. A
photograph, dated July 15, 1909, shows the four children, who
look to be about 12 to 20 years of age, so born between about
1889 and 1897. An article about Candelaria Figueredo says:
a su amparo vivían también tres sobrinas, huérfanas
de su hermana menor María Esther [... under her protection
also lived three nieces, orphans of her younger sister, María
Esther].
