Between July 6 and July 16 1999, fourteen
descendants of Perucho Figueredo, representing four
generations, took advantage of an invitation from the
director of del Archivo Nacional de Cuba to
visit CubaThey are shown here at the plantation Las Mangas, once Perucho Figueredo's sugar plantation, near Bayamo. They are: (from left, standing): Maria Ximena Garavito; Bernardo Ortiz (Maria Ximena's husband); Pilar Torres; Clara Figueredo (a Cuban, the granddaughter of one of Perucho's brothers); Carlos Andres Perez; Aurora Arciniegas; Rodrigo Rueda; [???]; Maria de la Luz Giraldo; Zoila Cuadras (a Cuban, also a granddaughter of one of Perucho's brothers); Lorraine; Amparo Rueda; Gabriela Santa; Ana Elena de Arazoza (a Cuban, our guide), and a Cuban gentleman who now lives on the property. --- (from left, sitting): Ines Arciniegas (80 years old); Lucia Arciniegas (83); and Julia Arciniegas (85). Julia Helena Torres (4 months old), the baby daughter of Pilar Torres, isn't shown. The party spent two days in Havana, a week in Bayamo with a tour to Santiago de Cuba and Le Cobre, a two days in Trinidad before returning to Havana, thirteen descendants of Perucho Figueredo from Colombia, the USA, and Spain flew to Cuba at the invitation of the Musee Especial de Havana.
